BALTIMORE (Nov. 17, 2022) – Below is a statement from Governor-Elect Wes Moore thanking Majority Leader Hoyer for his exemplary service: 

“For years, we have referred to you as Leader Hoyer. Not just because that has been your title, but because that’s who you have been. Our great state of Maryland is indebted to your steadfast leadership, contagious courage, and dedicated statesmanship. 

“In Maryland, I know I speak for so many when I say, ‘Thank you Leader Hoyer.’ You have built a lasting legacy and have set a clear example for us all of what it means to serve. 

“That you will continue to serve the great people of Maryland’s fifth district is yet another in the long list of proof points that confirm what we all know and feel: you have our backs in Washington. 

“When I take office in January, I am immensely grateful that I will still be able to count on your counsel and your partnership, both of which have been as invaluable to me as they have been to so many people across this state.”
