The Moore-Miller Inaugural Committee Announces Inaugural Entertainment — Impressive Lineup of Local Talent and National Performers
BALTIMORE (Jan. 12, 2023) – Today, the Moore-Miller Inauguration Committee and the incoming First Lady Dawn Moore and Second Gentleman Dave Miller, Honorary Chair and Co-Chair of The People’s Ball: Celebrating the Inauguration of Wes Moore & Aruna Miller, are thrilled to announce the full lineup of performers for upcoming Inaugural events.
“I’ve maintained from the start that this inauguration is not about us – it’s about all Marylanders,” said Governor-Elect Wes Moore. “That’s why I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with some of Maryland’s brightest artists, and to welcome other entertainers from across the country to our great state.”
“From the Evening of Faith and Community and the Day of Service, to the Swearing-In Ceremony and the People’s Ball, these Inaugural events are a chance for all Marylanders to celebrate our state’s next chapter,” said Honorary Chair and Co-Chair Dawn Moore and Dave Miller. “We’re incredibly grateful to partner with these talented artists, and we can’t wait to see the magic their performances bring to each event.”
An Evening of Faith and Community on January 15th will feature performances by Maryland artists Lily Grace, Dr. Jason Max Ferdinand Singers, TAGE on Steel, Asian American and Pacific Islander Youth Choir, Piscataway Conoy Tribe, JJ Hairston, and Anthony Brown & group therAPy. They will be joined by gospel singer Yolanda Adams and soloist Wintley Phipps.
The Wreath Laying Ceremony and Prayer Walk on January 18th will feature performances by Maryland poet Lady Brion and Frédéric Yonnet.
The Swearing-In Ceremony on January 18th will feature performances by Maryland artists from across the state including Morgan State University Choir, Maryland National Guard Choir and Band, U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club, Parijita Bastola, Coach G Academy, Inc., Meki’s Tamure Polynesian Arts Group, Inc., Cultura Plenera, The Sensational Royal Lights, Bowie High School Marching Bulldogs, and the Clarksburg High School Chamber Choir.
The People’s Ball: Celebrating the Inauguration of Wes Moore & Aruna Miller on January 18th will feature performances by Grammy award-winning R&B singer Maxwell, acclaimed singer-songwriter Raheem DeVaughn, D-Nice, DJ Quicksilva, DJ Tanz, DJ Kristin, The Peabody Jazz Institute, Dru Hill, Prima Ballerina Caroline Rocher Barnes, University of Maryland EntouRAAS Dance Group, Morton Street Dance Center, University of Maryland Bhangra Dance Group, Benjamin Gates, Top Tier Shiners, and Brandon Woody.
